Oracle America, Inc. has openings for Software Developer positions in Burlington, MA. Design, develop, troubleshoot and/or test/QA software. Perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture. Responsible for the research, design, development, and debugging of Oracle's advanced enterprise SPARC servers portfolio. Develop advanced software solutions for these systems. Perform a variety of bringup, validation and unit test activities on system prototypes in the lab. Support prototype system's bringup; analyze system software related issues and perform root cause analysis (debug of problems). Support sustaining efforts, fix bugs in shipping products as necessary and support Software Quality Assurance (SQA) and release activities throughout the product development cycle.
Employer will accept Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field and 1 year of work experience in job offered or 1 year of work experience in a software developer-related occupation. Education or experience must include:
1. Unix internals and device driver under Linux OS;
2. Code development standards including specification generation, unit testing, source control, formal code reviews and version control, Bug tracking tools, ANSI C standards;
3. Computer Hardware and Software systems design;
4. Definition, specification development, prototype creation and testing, system validation and testing, issue debugging and resolution, simulation, productization and sustaining;
5. PowerPC, PCIe Architecture, VME backplane and High Speed I/O interconnects;
6. Solaris, Unix device driver and internals;
7. Operating systems including Solaris, Unix or Linux, Lynx OS;
8. Bringup, qualification and validation of systems and firmware development;
9. C programming; and
10. System or code debugging tools including logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, hardware emulators, Operating System/programming tools and debuggers including use of kdb, dtrace, JTAG debuggers, compilers, breakpoints.
Experience may be gained concurrently.
