We are seeking an R&D professional who has prior success and a desire for embracing responsibility. The role is accountable for execution of research and development of early stage development of new product technology and processes of highly complex technical nature which can significantly impact the profitable growth of the corporation. The R&D Innovator would have a track record of delivery of valuable technologies and products to the company, and demonstrated technical competence, commercial urgency, communication skills, and an understanding of technical product commercialization.
Work closely in a cross functional team with Marketing, Research, Quality, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Engineering Management to research and develop new products and product enhancements
Assist in the development of project plans and produce functional prototypes, test the product performance, assess and document the performance results
Successfully interact with external technical resources (both academic and peers), commercial partners, and internal technical and operational resources
In cooperation with Marketing, create a product performance requirement outline and ensure all departments have provided their input and approval
Work with Marketing to understand the target market requirements for products under design
Work with product suppliers to identify and procure needed components and materials for product designs
Responsible for accurate bill of materials, quality control and adherence to procedures, and all documentation of new product designs
Comply with all regulatory requirements of the market for the development process and contribute to the design as necessary to ensure the products meet all regulatory requirements
Qualifications to be Successful
BS Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent work place experience.
3-5 years experience with success in the development, evaluation and in achieving milestones towards the commercialization of applied materials or components development for the electronics industry
3-5 years of experience with Rf measurements and Rf instruments such as Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope, etc.
Experience in antenna designing and other microwave designing such as with filters, oscillators, circulators, waveguides, etc. are a plus.
Good programming skills. The hired individual is expected to write code and interact with measurements and instruments.
Ability to work independently, plan, organize and oversee multiple research projects
Ability to travel up to 30% to locations and company partners in the U.S. and abroad
Due to ITAR regulations, candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Preferred Qualifications
MS in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Materials Science.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Patents and/or published articles a plusEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
