Chair, Division of Vascular Surgery

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (LHMC), part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is seeking a Chair to lead its Division of Vascular Surgery.
Candidates should have excellent management and interpersonal skills that will allow them to lead, grow and develop a division of highly skilled clinicians and support staff, along with a continued interest in the practice and advancement of vascular surgery. Applicants must be board certified in Vascular Surgery and have a strong academic background and be eligible to be appointed at the academic rank of Associate or Full Professor of Surgery at UMass Chan Medical School.

Additionally, candidates should have an established track record of management with expertise in healthcare operations and performance improvement. Leadership training is required. The division comprises 6 senior staff physicians, 4 LPNs, and 2 medical assistants who provide outpatient services at Burlington, Peabody, Beverly, as well as at Lahey clinic services in Bermuda.

The division has a strong commitment to clinical excellence. In addition to expertise in dialysis access and open vascular surgery, the division is looking to develop and grow endovascular treatment capabilities in particular. The division supports Lahey s General Surgery residency program, which has 25 residents. Teaching medical students from UMass Chan Medical School who rotate at Lahey for various clinical rotations is encouraged.

The responsibilities of the Chair include the administration of the professional, operational, education and research programs of the Division. The Chair is responsible for physician recruitment and professional development; achievement of divisional quality, financial, academic, research and patient satisfaction goals; development of new strategic initiatives; effective management of resource allocation within the division, and optimization of divisional management. Candidates should have an established record of achievement in vascular surgery as well a strong commitment to research development, education and quality improvement. Candidates should be prepared to lead the division in a growing healthcare system while ensuring the delivery of excellent clinical care in partnership with advanced practice providers, teaching trainees, and fostering research.

The Lahey clinica integrated delivery system consists of over 1,200 clinicians providing care throughout Lahey s and Beth Israel Health network of acute care hospitals, ambulatory centers, physician practice sites, behavioral health facilities, long-term care facilities, home health organizations and care management programs. In March 2019, Lahey Health merged with four other local hospital organizations (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, New England Baptist, Mount Auburn, and Anna Jaques Hospitals) to form Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH). BILH currently employs 35,000 individuals making it the second largest employer in the state of Massachusetts and consists of over 200 care locations including 13 hospitals with over 2400 beds and 5 ambulatory surgery centers. Approximately 4,300 physicians are associated with BILH including 840 primary care physicians managing 1.3 million patients.

LHMC, a 345-bed tertiary care facility, outpatient clinic and Level I trauma center located in Burlington, MA is a physician-led, multi-disciplinary group practice, entitled Lahey Clinic, comprised of 500 physicians. We maintain several accredited residency and fellowship programs and are an academic affiliate ofUMass Chan Medical School. Conveniently located, Burlington, Massachusetts is 17 miles north of Boston and a short drive to the mountains, lakes and seaside of New England as well as cultural opportunities of Boston.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
